My First Attempt at Animation 15 Years, 3 Months ago Karma: 26
Not sure if this is the correct place for this, but here it goes:

My first animation (and so many mistakes!XD). I have no books on animation, so I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing... This probably would have turned out better if I had just took the time to look for some references to use, but no; I was too lazy. lol. So, what do you think? Should I stop this animating stuff now, or give it another go in the future (most likely with something I could blatantly copy from. Hehe)?

Pretty damn good for a first shot, I'd say!!
I've been trying to dabble into animation, more specifically so that I can have something for my (non-existant at this time) portfolio in order to apply to the VCU arts program, but I've been soo lazy about it... I've used flash twice in school but I really suck at it, so I've been putting it off.
I think if you keep at it you could make longer and even more detailed clips. *^_^*

Thanks, Chaos. *Hugs* I'm sure Flash won't be so bad once you get used to it. When I first got Paint Shop Pro it took me quite a while to get the hang of things. Just keep at it and you'll be able to make your very own cartoons some day.^_^

lol. I hope so. I'd really like to make a little Sesshoumaru and Kagome animation at some point.^///^

It looks really good, you have talent.
If you need software to make things easier, you can check these two programs that are under GNU/Open source license, so are free and safe to use.

You really think I have talent? Oh my... that means so much! *Hugs* Thanks for recommending those programs. My mum downloaded that Blender program quite a while ago but I still have no idea how to use it. lol. But I will check out that other program. Thanks again!^_^

I never really liked blender..

I used Adobe Flash CS4 at times, but it's such a steep learning curve from other animation programs that i get soo confused.

If you want just a pencil animation, without coloring use Pencil. (Software name) It's pretty good and simple to use. It's great to practice on that software.

but Macromedia flash is sort of old, but well used.

Also, always work in high resolutions when it comes to animation. or else it'll get pixelly =/

I only went on Blender a few times and was totally confused. I haven't opened that program in months... but I really should give it another try (maybe with a hundred or so help guides to help me through it.XD). I've never used Adobe Flash before and I don't think I'll be able to for a very long time. I'm a bit poor at the moment... dirt poor.-__-

lol. I drew the first frame on MS Paint, so the rest of the frames had to be done in the same way. I'll try and make my next animation a bit cleaner if I can.^^;

Thank you! If I ever get the right program, I'll make longer and more cleaner animations.
