I know there are a few threads already one that is what Dokuga members favorite movies, favorite t.v shows and things like that, but I do not believe there has been a thread made yet for favorite holiday movies(If I'm wrong and am missing it then I apologize!)

So what is everyone's favorite holiday movie(s): By holiday I mean the one's coming up(or happening today in one case) Thanksgiving and Christmas(and the other holidays in December who's names I am drawing a blank on right now)

I don't have a favorite Thanksgiving movie, I don't think there is one.

Miracle of 34th street(1994 version, I have not seen the older version yet, but I re-watched this movie the other night and remembered how much I loved it)

A Christmas carol(1938 and 2001 version, haven't seen the new one yet)

Those are the only ones I can think of now, did anyone else notice that Christmas movies actually tend to be very bittersweet movies? Thinking back to all these movies, I noticed that most of them, if not all- have either a very tragic underline in the story, or a dramatic and depressing event that happens in it. But they always end with a very warm and touching feeling.

its a wonderful life. I actually watch it when its on TV as i dont own it. its kidna some weird after presents thing or something from when i was young, and they used to play the ten commandments every year. I miss old cinema.

I agree with Sugar, "A Christmas Story" rocks. My boss FORCED me to watch it, and I was prepared to hurl, but as always, she was soooo right.

Agreed 'A Christmas Story' is awesomely good though I mostly watch the cartoon movies like 'Frosty the Snowman's First Christmas' or 'Rudoplh the Red Nose Reindeer" and stuff along that line lol

I've seen most of the classic movies that everyone knows, and I like them, but the ones I watch every year are 'The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus' and 'Yogi Bear's First Christmas'.

My favourite Christmas movie is "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!"

I have loved this movie since I was in diapers. I used to watch it every single time it came on, and if it was on two different channels at the same time, I would flip back and forth, watching both.

I can recite the whole thing from memory. xD

"A Christmas Story" is classic. I love the leg lamp and the neighbors dogs. Can't forget the ending in the Chinese Food restaurant!

Also love "Scrooged" with Bill Murray.
