Wow. That question's much harder than it should be. I think a big part of why I'm writing, is to escape the reality, and mainly the fact that I'm single and hating it. xD So I suppose the reason why I read tons of shoujo manga and love to write cute and fluffy stuff is to fill in the void in me, created by my non-existent love life. *laugh*

Still, I think in the end the main reason why I'm writing, is simply because I'm inspired. When an idea of a story attaches itself on my mind, the story starts to take life. And I think that's why I don't plan so much ahead when I'm writing fanfiction - it's because I think that the story is alive. It takes control sometimes and moves into a direction I could not have foreseen. The story speaks to me, and I merely give it a form so that others might enjoy it as well.

So, a long story in short: I write to tell the story.

I write fanfiction for many reasons. Mostly i fell in love with a non-canon pairing, and their dynamics. I fell in love with the possible that we didn't get to see, and wanted to challenge myself. I loved being able to take characters into a new world, with variations from the norm, and i adore seeing something refreshed and new. I love painting the picture of it all in my mind! Since i started back in 2007, I've written more then 75, drabbles, oneshots, and chapter fics on 4 different sites. I don't think i could ever stop, and Am seriously considering taking one of my more complicated plunnies and turning it into a novel with OCs.

Short - I write to...Free my inner imagination.

The Kanja in Black means Creativity, the 'Sub-Kanja' that are imposed in the background from Left to right mean, Joy, Love, Peace... all the things i feel when i write.

I've noticed this a bit, please submit your answers in an "i write to..." format. Also if your wanting the banner from here out, I'm going to ask that you adhere to the Long answer as well as the short/banner answer.

If your just answering to get the banner, there's not much fun in that. I asked a specific question, asking for a long answer and a short answer. I'm also making a banner for it, asking only that you answer the question fully before i do.

I've missed so much while I was away and because of this break I can really understand the answer to this question.

Long- I write because it is one of my talents and each time I sit down I can forget my troubles, stress, and everyday life. The time that I take to write is mine and mine alone to go anywhere my imagination takes me. At the same time I enjoy the fact that my writing entertains others, makes people smile or cry, and takes their minds away from their every day life and into a world of their own. I can't imagine my life without writing and I hope to be able to take one of my alternate universe stories one day and make it into the original story that it originated as.

Short- I write because it becomes whatever emotion I want to escape to.

Long- Every time i write, everything just flows out, its like i have no control whatsoever, all is done subconsciously 2 hours later i "wake up" to find a chappie that i did not know i could write, though i have not put up any chapters yet, (i want to finish the whole story be4 putting them up) i have written quite a few!

Ever since I could remember, even when really little, I liked to tell myself stories to make me fall asleep better than read the same old book over and over (still do that too). As I got older the stories got more complex. Sometimes they just randomly pop into my head while I'm doing something totally irrelavant (like trying to do homework or pay attention in class LOL). In grade 4 we had to write a story for some literacy thing and I discovered that I could put those stories down on papaer and bam! never stopped writing. My head is always full of places, times, characters faces and their voices. So I write it all down.

Short - (and I would love this in a banner LOL)

w0ot! this one only took me 10 hours to get!

I started writing when my 6th grade teacher told me I had a natural talent for writing after reading my free writing journal. So I started filling old notebooks with stories about fairies, aliens, child detectives and other such clichés. I got older and my story writing went on hold when homework took over but I still enjoyed writing when I could and all my english teachers always praised my skill. After I graduated, I discovered FF.net and started reading & commenting on other people's stuff until I thought, "hey I can do this" and wrote my 1st fanfic about Miroku & Sango. I've been writing fan fiction for about 2 years now & I'm loving every minute of it.

So in short: I write to develop my natural talent

Short: I write to escape the real world.

Long: I started writing when I was a little girl (about seven or eight). When my father saw that I was writing, he encouraged it and I wanted to make him proud of me so I continued doing it. After that, I grew to enjoy reading and writing and eventually it became my art. I am always striving for perfection, though I am a long ways away from it. ^^

LONG: Every time I become interested in a new fandom, I tend to obsess over it for a while. That time can be a few days, or several months. My record is two years. *coughPhantomoftheOperacough* Naturally, when I become obsessed with something, a few ridiculous plunnies pay me a visit every now and then. I rarely use these plunnies, as most of them are completely stupid, but I will occasionally think of a good one. Those select few plunnies then take over my mind until I've either exhausted it completely, or until the story is finished. My writing reflects these plunnies. They are very few and far between, but I know that when I do write something, it only comes from the best of my ideas.

SHORT: I write to satisfy my inner fangirl-isms.
