[D I S C L A I M E R ] // They're not mine, save for Sesshoumaru. I will continue to live happily with this delusion of owning him. Leave me alone.
[W A R N I N G (s?) ] // Er. It's my first SessKag fic. ..[shrug]
[S U M M A R Y ] //Not AU. Kagome is not a demon. Inuyasha did not make out with Kikyou nor did poor Rin suffer from some illness that I'd probably have to research on. Now..how is this going to become a SessKag? I have no clue.

When Kagome saw silver among the woods, she did not once pause to consider her own folly for approaching him. As a matter of fact, she ran to him. Tears blurred her track, but she stayed on course, she felt the bushes and stray branches snag at her legs, but she couldn't feel them. She needed to get there. He needed him.
Upon entering the clearing, she saw his regal form, she let a moment of fear take a hold of her and shook them off and squinted through her tears. He NEEDED him.
She saw him regard her with her with no visible reaction at all. She should have been scared, in all honesty; she was scared, somewhere deep beneath the layer of desperation. Inuyasha needed him. Therefore, she in turn needed him.
"Sesshoumaru...please." She angrily brushed the tears away, she hated her own weakness, she needed to be strong yet she had no control over her own waterworks and anguish. "Please.."
She can feel his gaze on her bowed head, she can guess what he was thinking, but at the moment, she didn't care. She'll go as far to agree with it. She'd confess to crimes she never committed if she can only get him to help. "Please...help Inuyasha." She can feel her throat constricting; she needed to do this quick and right. She immediately dropped to her knees and slammed her head to the soft ground below and relished the pain. "Please..save him. Save Inuyasha!"

Sesshoumaru watched the human drop to her knees with disgust. Humans. So predictable.
"Please...save him. Save Inuyasha!" And...she was bold enough to plead for his aid. For what? A halfling that was unfortunately tied to him by a mistake? He watched her coolly, feeling no emotional pull at the pathetic sight she provided him.
"I have no obligations to you human, or that halfling of yours." With that firmly said, he considered his options, he could walk away or he could kill her. Looking down at the shaking form of the human female, he found no real value in slaying her quivering form so he decided to grace her with what might be the closest thing to mercy he was capable of. He turned on his heels and began to walk away...which surprisingly was cut short when the girl grabbed a hold of what was usually mistaken as his tail. Suppressing a growl, he glared viciously at the girl who stubbornly held on. "Human.." He began but failed to finish.
"No, YOU listen. I don't particularly enjoy slamming my forehead onto the ground, despite what you think of what my hobbies are. I don't have that many brain cells to spare at all. I ...Inuyasha, your half-BROTHER needs your help. Sure he might not appreciate it, but ..but...he's your brother!" He watched her wipe her face with her sleeve and inwardly cringed. She couldn't have done that with the same arm she had attached to his person did she? "And he's family! Family care for each other! Sure, he may have the worst vocabulary, sure he may be simple, and scorn education...but he's got a warm heart and he's ..he's...important."
Sesshoumaru continued to stare at her hand, quietly thinking over her little, loud, speech and dissected the whole thing, pushing her reasons and his obligation into two different categories. So far, the fact that Inuyasaha was indeed family tied him to the rescue mission somewhat.
"And I thought you were going to kill him. Are you going to let some lower demon take that from you?" He moved his icy gaze from her hand to her face. He considered her words silently.
"I shall kill you after I rid of this lesser demon and Inuyasha. You will regret your boldness to give me orders." He replied monotonously with his deep voice. The threat to kill her had come out naturally and without much thought. She couldn't make him do what he didn't want to do anyway; might as well save Inuyasha from his failure so that the Halfling could later drown in his own misery.
"Look forward to it." The female then broke into a full blown smile that almost literally shined in the dark shade of the trees. Secretly dumbfounded, he watched the girl stumble clumsily to the clearing where he could smell Inuyasha's blood.
She smiled at him? Only Rin smiles at him. Everyone else cowered, begged, or challenged him. Jaken was of course an ugly exception. His smiles were undesirable.
What was her name again?
...
Priestess will do.

She cannot believe this! Inuyasha was fuming. She had just finished his full blown tantrum with a few 'sits' a couple seconds ago and he was already pouting again; and all because Sesshoumaru did indeed show up and saved Inuyasha from a fading future and left the half demon near death, but otherwise ..very alive and angry.
Of course he didn't leave before he thoroughly proved to Inuyasha in few words just how much better Sesshoumaru thought he himself was. He spared her one look, just one small look and walked away.
"I cant believe him! He thinks that he saved me! But he DIDN'T! I was doing FINE. I cant believe you went to him Kagome!" Inuyasha fumed loudly.
Miroku and Sango shared looks as Shippo, with a quick glance to Inuyasha, jumped into Kagome's arms to whisper his thoughts on the matter.
"I didn't need his help! I was winning!"
Kagome mostly stayed silent but grinned slightly to Shippo's little remarks, nodded to Miroku's smile, and shared meaningful looks with Sango and all the while she kept flashing back to how she had dropped to her knees, smashed her forehead, jarred her brain, and risked her life in facing Sesshoumaru and his ego. She did tell the elder sibling that Inuyasha wouldn't be able to appreciate didn't she? She gave him one glare that silenced him well, and she smiled sweetly before saying with equal sweetness, "Sit."
Stupid dog demons...the both of them.

Yes. It's a slow beginning...but...I'm hoping to make it seem as 'natural' as I can; without using the familiar situations in a lot of the SessKag fics. Of course they're all very nice, but I really don't think you want to see another different variation of them. I shall do my best to deliver! TAT)/
