Kagomé plopped down on the park bench. She looked tword the swimming pool, the tennis courts, the basketball courts, and the grove of trees in the distance. This park had everything anyone could want! The only thing it didn't seem to have were other kids Kagomé's age. Everyone must be on vacation.

Kagomé had just moved to the neighborhood after New Years. She had left behind all her friends. Her mom and grandfather told her the move would be difficult at first, but she would meet new friends in no time. 'I won't meet anyone if there's no one to meet', she thatght.

"Outch!" Something hit her knee. Kagomé looked down to see a blue rubber ball. 'Where did that come from?' she wondered as she looked out into the feild. Kagomé could see nobody else out there, only a dog. A husky. "Dumb dog," she muttered and then looked away.

Just then a voice replied, "Hey, it was an accident. This one is on purpose." The ball whizzed by, just missing her head. 'What? Who's doing that? Where did that come from?' she wondered. She could not see anyone.

As she turned to her right, there sat a white husky with yellow eyes by the edge of the bench. This dog seemed fearless, facing Kagomé as if it were waiting for something. "Well?" asked the dog. Kagomé's eyes opened wide with her mouth at a gape. "What's the matter? Dog got your tongue?" laughed the dog.

Kagomé rubbed her eyes and looked again. The dog remained. Perhaps she had imagined the voice.

"The first one was an accident, you know. It was really no reason to call me 'dumb'. I'd rather you called me Sesshoumaru," remarked the dog.

"I . . . I'm s-sorry," stammered Kagomé, not knowing how to address a talking dog. Than she began to laugh. "I guess we owe each other an apology. What do you think, Sesshoumaru?"

A/N: I'll continue later on today. Alright?
