Though name-calling truly does hurt. Maybe they can come up with some for them! They call her filth and she calls them something amusing/patronizing. If that's in her character anyway. Glad to have you back. As for your friend....do what I do when I visit my brother and mother. Find a place to be alone or that reminds you of him. Then talk to him as though he's there or you're writing a letter to him. It doesn't have to be out loud but it helps. Say whatever you want. An apology for not keeping in touch. Thankfulness for his service to his country. Events in your life. I truly believe in an afterlife and I know that they are no longer troubled, unless we are sad. Just reaquaint yourself with your friend. And imagine him smiling/smirking/winking/rolling his eyes at you. Whatever fits his personality. Thanks again.

Your story is very lovely. I've been reading it for awhile, and now after all this time...I'm sending a reveiw. Every chapter keeps me on the edge of my seat, and with the twist, and turns of this work. The way you have Sess, and Kagome shown is so sweet, and how you try to get them to show feelings for each other.

On another note, I know what you are going through with your ex. I'm going through it as well, and I'm still in depression, but your story helps me cheer up alittle. Both of us will make it, we will heal. Through all the tears that are shed, each tear is a pain that has been let go. When there are no more tears to shed, is when we know that all our pain is gone. I didn't find this chapter lacking in the normal way that you write. It was a bit shorter, but that is understandable. I liked it none the less.

What a great story this is. This is the best Kag/Sess fanfic since Tales From the House of the Moon. Yes I too am going through withdrawals.

You've done an exquisite job in making their relationship believable and in not falling into what I think of as the "Poof, Kagome's a demon/angel/goddess and everything's dandy" trap. I enjoyed the fact that Sess' isn't Quite as stubborn and blind as I thought. Cool chap. Heh-heh, you'd think with a memory like his, & as old as he is, he'd know better than to ignore her. As far as ally's to the west go... did Kouga survive the final battle? I remember he was horribly injured, but I can't remember if he died too. He'd still be the wolf prince, & by now probably the king/taiyoukai.

Plus with everyone (ningen & youkai) Kagome's helped in the past I'm sure the western forces would become considerably stronger just by those who feel they owe the odd little miko who had once helped them. *shrugs* Ah, who knows? I should think Sesshomaru's rule would have almost unlimited power with Kags there. Her reputation for good is as well known as his for bad. And right now, even those in his house can see she will not bow to him. (*giggle* wonder what the conversation is like in the soldiers & servants quarters!! Poor Sessy.)

I felt pity for Kag as Sess disappeared. I feel sorry for her now as well. He is acting so cold, but I like how strong she has become and that he respects her. I also love his beast for how he is acting. I hope they will go into a nice relationship, though I understand Sess motives. He is trying to protect the girl and he is right. She need to gain respect in his court as well as outside it. In that times she, as a mare ninger would be considered as weakness and the next battle would follow should he take her as mate right now. I think he knows the consequences and is therefore cautious. The one devastiting battle barely ended, so getting into a second one wouldn't be consideret wise, huh?

I'm sorry your schedule is so backed up. It's pretty tough working 2 jobs. This review is going to be about you. While I love your story and look forward to updates, I would rather you slow your pace than burn out and quit writing.

I too have a pet peeve about endless author's notes. I think commenting to reviewers is sweet at first when it's a manageable thing. The paradox is that the more popular your story, the more reviewers you have, and the more overwhelming your sense of obligation. I lack empathy(sadly), but if it was me, I would start procrastinating because every update would mean more obligation and then more procrastination and guilt. Then I would disappear.

I'm glad you're better adjusted than I am. So; you do whatever you have to do and try to remember that you're writing this because it makes you feel good. You are well worth the wait.

You know, if someone's attention span is so short they can't follow a plot long enough to read through a battle scene (very nice btw), they'll probably forget the name of your story and drop off the map anyway.

I have a certain amount of personal experience with this locking of oneself in the bathroom. You wrote his consternation over the problem sooo well. I could just picture the lack of expression on his face.

I'm going to have to re-read your story. I read quickly and last weekend I read 3, (including yours), that were very good, but all 3 start with extreme angst and they are slightly confused in my memory by now. Arrrrgh.

That's okay, I like reading the good ones over and over anyway. Lucky me to have found 3. Nice chapter! I get what you're saying about loss. Sometimes you just have to move on and deal with life. The girl has always been focused. *smiles*

I like your story. Your characterization of Sesshoumaru is very good. Please continue writing. I am curious as to what happens next. A bit tragic that so many die. Kagome seems to have pushed aside her grief by coping with more immediate problems. I thought Sesshoumaru's perception of the loss of life was honourable; but I don't think it would be enough to heal Kagome. Depends on where you're going with the tale. Very nice.
