"Wench" It was like a dagger through her heart, in the four years she had been traveling to the past she had heard many times mostly from enemies that sought the Shikon jewel shards or from those who meant ill will towards her or her friends and usually she would brush it off it was no different than being called a 'whore' or 'slut' in the modern era. However it hurt the most when her friend Inuyasha used the word along with the rest of the cruel proclamations, that she wasn’t “strong enough”, “smart enough”, or “pretty enough”.

“You stupid wench, how could you miss he was right in front of you?” The hanyo screamed at her from across the field.

No matter how strong a person was emotionally or psychologically it was only a matter of time before they broke and that moment for Kagome was now as she allowed the bow to drop from her hands and hit the ground. Four years of constantly loyalty had resulted in her being nothing more than his verbal punching bag, she wiped away the tear that erroneously fell from her eye before turning to what she once called the love of her life.
