You Came Back
Picture information
Description:
The snow fell thickly. The land was covered in ice and lay hidden beneath the thick white blanket. In the midst of the frozen tundra sat a small figure. Their crimson hakama stood out like a splash of blood against the white snow, their long ebony hair glistening with blue highlights against the ice`s glare. Higurashi Kagome sat curled on the ground, shaking, her sapphire eyes dripping tears. The crystalline droplets froze against her chilled flesh on contact, her breath appearing to be small puffy clouds before her mouth.
Her hands dug into her white hoari, her fingers digging into her frozen flesh as she trembled on the forest floor. The snow fell and gathered on her but she did not feel their cold touch. She probably had hypothermia at this point. Hell, she was probably going to die out in this wasteland, alone and pathetic, her frozen body to never be discovered.
Her small jaw clenched, her blue eyes bitter. But she could not bring herself to care at that point. Her heart was jaded and frankly, she just didn't give a damn any more. She should have known better - it was almost fitting that she had been let down and made a fool once again.
'Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, fool me three times... I'm just an utter fool.' She mused bitterly.
An image of a demon Lord with frozen gold eyes and flawless beauty flashed in her mind. Her heart clenched at the memory of the dog demon. Her small lips pressed firmly together into a severe line, her jaw clenched so tightly her teeth gritted together. She should have never trusted him. She had always been a fool when it came to her heart. She gave and gave and gave but never received. Why had she been so stupidly hopeful that this time it was going to be different?
She sniffled and roughly wiped away the fresh tears that began to fall with her chilled hand. She would never do it again. She would never let herself be hurt like this again. Her heart couldn't handle it. The glue and tape she had repeatedly wrapped around the damaged organ could no longer hold it together. Her hope in love was in shambles.
"You truly have no concept of self-preservation do you miko?" A deep, silky voice murmured from behind her.
Kagome froze. Slowly, she looked over her hunched shoulder. A pillar of white stood just a few feet away. Long white hair that resembled the fallen snow glimmered like woven diamond and a pair of golden eyes regarded her placidly. Her mouth opened in surprise but she could not form words. Instead she stared at the fallen angel.
A slender black brow arched on that angelic face and the daiyoukai closed his eyes and seemed to sigh slightly.
"You have no faith in me, miko. Your lack of trust in this one is tedious." Sesshoumaru stated coolly.
All of the sudden the feeling of a small body hurtling against him and wrapping itself around him made the dog demon freeze. Sesshoumaru blinked and looked down to see a snow covered head. Kagome closed her eyes, hot, fresh tears pouring down her face. Her arms wrapped around the daiyoukai, ignoring his armor and everything, and buried her face against his silk hoari.
"You... you came back." She croaked shakily.
Sesshoumaru stared down at the miko calmly. Smelling her sweet salura scent and her tears, he felt an odd sense of contentment fill him. He did not investigate the alien feeling. He did not want to acknowledge it to be frank. Instead, he raised his arm, his long white hoari sleeve falling down to reveal his muscled forearm, and held the small priestess against him. Her petite form trembled and shook against him from both the cold and her muffled cries.

Just a sketch I did today and a little one shot I wrote with it XD
