Entry 2 for the DA SessKag Fairytale Twist contest. Needs moar glitter! D8<
This is based on a fairly obscure fairy tale: The White Cat. I loved this story as a kid largely due to the illustrations by Janet and Anne Grahame Johnstone.
Kagome is in the role of the prince, while Sesshoumaru occupies that of the white cat. I just thought it would be funny for him to be trapped as a cat for hundreds of years. >:D Below is my summary of the story + an abbreviated version of said summary.
Basic story:
In the story there is an issue with succession to the throne, so the king sends out his three sons to find him the prettiest, smallest dog. On his travels, the youngest son comes across a mysterious castle that is home to an intelligent white cat. She agrees to help him and she sends him back with a tiny dog just before the year is up. The youngest son essentially wins, but the king decides to send them out on another quest. (The king’s Rick-rollin that throne! >:0)
The white cat helps again, the prince wins again, the king sends them out again- this time for a bride. The prince spends the year with the white cat, at the end of which the cat implores the prince to behead her because it’s the only way she can help him. He reluctantly does so, and she immediately transforms into a princess because that’s totally what happens when you behead something. She proceeds to tell the story of how she was enchanted, they return to the king, she starts handing out kingdoms like candy, good times are had by all, the end.
tl;dr
Sesshoumaru=cat. Kagome beheads cat. Poof. Cat=>Sesshoumaru. Happily Ever After.
Materials:
Copic markers, random prismacolor colored pencils, 01 Sepia Micron, white gel pen, shimmery gold paint you can’t see, tea-aged paper, and most importantly: a.d.d.-ness in photoshop.
EDIT: Thank you everyone for the lovely comments! :3
EDIT 2: The Johnstones' gorgeous work @_@: The Prince And the White Cat (After transformation.)

Lovely; I have never read the fairytale, but I'm sure you've captured it perfectly.
