A loud scream pierced the air followed by the sound of glass shattering. The Western fortress fell quiet as everyone tried to ignore the heart stricken sobs and continue on with the evening chores. It was well known that Sesshomaru’s newest charge had suffered something extremely painful both emotionally and mentally though what is exactly remained unclear.
Sesshomaru sighed as he stepped over yet another broke vase. His charge continued to cry and glare at him angrily but miserably. She was armed with another glass object but he was not to be deterred.
“You will cease this.” He spoke with authority.
The girl sobbed as she threw the object at him, “No! Go away” she cried.
“Why.” Sesshomaru asked although his tone held no inquiry.
More sobs filled the air but the girl continued to glare her eyes albeit teary, “I don’t want you.” She ground out through her cries.
It was then that Sesshomaru closed the distance between them. He enveloped her small frame in his and held her closely. For a brief moment she fought against him, banging her fists against his chest but Sesshomaru did not budge. Her fists gripped his hoari tightly as she began to sob into his chest all of her anger, frustration and heart break.
“He hurt me” She said quietly, brokenly.
Sesshomaru sighed and stroked her hair comfortingly “I know”
The girl’s cries became quieted sniffles, “No one wants me” she whispered.
Sesshomaru closed his eyes and held the broken woman to him close. He pressed his lips to the top of her head and quietly spoke “I do, Kagome. I do.”
