Chapter 1

The Life before this one...

Every night for the past month Kagome is haunted by strange dreams from the past of a handsome youkai. Disturbed by the vividness and painful longing she feels upon waking up she tries to ignore it until one night it all becomes too much for her .Warning: Lemon and lime.

The characters are very different from how they're portrayed in the anime you'll probably understand what I mean when you read it. So PLEASE just keep an open mind because it might seem all confusing and not make sense but I’ll try to explain things more clearly in the end.

Long, dark midnight hair danced carelessly in the gentle wind, a perfect contrast against her fair skin. Soft Azure eyes looked longingly at the pale moon. A soft sigh escaped her dark red lips as she wiped the lone tear that seemed to fall almost mockingly down her high cheekbones. 

There were nights when the wind was so cold that my body froze in bed if I just listened to it right outside the window. There were days when the sun was so cruel that all the tears turned to dust and I just knew my eyes were drying out forever.

She placed her hand on the left side of her neck. Touching the scar that she had for as long as she could remember. It was a crescent moon, which slanted, slightly upwards. Strange but true. She didn't know what it was but ever since her dreams started, the mark on her neck started to become painful. It was slight at first, nothing that she couldn't handle but then it got worse to a point where it eventually brought her to tears.

She sighed once again as she sat down on the bench close to the god-tree. She breathed in deeply, inhaling the sweet scent of wild blossoms and pine that grew on the outskirts of her home. She thought back to her dreams and wondered about how much they affected her. They were very unusual to say the least. She would wake up in the morning remembering every feeling, every thought it was like she was reliving each dream she had.

Closing her eyes, she tilted her head up to the moon letting its moonbeams softly caress her face as she thought back previously to her dreams...

I finished crying in the instant that you left and I can't remember where or when or how and I vanished every memory you and I had ever made.

She was under the god-tree admiring the view in front of her. She played with a piece of her hair that seemed to escape from behind her ears. A shiver ran up her spine as she felt the strong aura of a familiar youkai approaching her. Sensing no ill intent from it, she continued to play with her hair. As she waited for the youkai to make himself known. Curiosity getting the better of her.

A figure suddenly came out of the bushes and stood in her line of view. He stood there unmoving and just looked at her as if trying to read her very soul, she met his impassive face with her own as she waited for him to make his purpose known on why he was here. She closed her eyes and concentrated hard to keep her miko powers at bay that screamed at her in alarm to either attack or run away and hide. She refused stubbornly to hide like a coward and to purify him without any logical reasoning’s. Though she doubted that she could as she could feel his strong youki surrounding her, seeming to suffocate and calm her at the same time. 'Weird' She thought.

The sound of twigs breaking under heavy pressure brought her out of her musings as she watched the Youkai walk towards her with slow, long strides as if trying not to frighten her like one would do to a stray animal. As she watched him walk slowly to her she decides to study him just as he was studying her.

 His chin and nose were shaped to perfection finished with dark red thin lips. He had high prominent cheekbones that were accompanied by two purple, horizontal stripes on either side. His eyelids were similar in colour which made his sun kissed orbs stand out beautifully. His eyes which were slightly almond shaped, had dark eye lashes and two gracefully arched brows above them. His pointed ears only made him look more elegant and mystical. He had a crescent moon planted firmly in the centre of his smooth forehead signalling his status as a youkai Lord. He had long flowing silver tresses that gently brushed the back of his knees in a smooth motion.

 He wore a White kimono that was decorated with Red flowers on the left corner of his shoulder and also the bottom of his sleeves. A Yellow and Blue sash tied tightly around his slim waist was holding two swords. Armour covered the front of his body while a heavy looking boa covered the right, hiding the lean muscles that she knew would be under there. All in all he was a very exotic and alluring looking youkai.

Blushing suddenly she looked at the nameless man and saw that he was pretty much observing her just as she was him.

"May I have the honours of knowing your name" His deep, masculine voice spoke politely as he looked at her not bothering anymore to hide his curiosity.

Shivers danced up and down her spine that didn't go unnoticed by the man. She stood and suddenly wished she hadn't. She had never felt so small and intimidated in her life. Even the human men were never this tall. She was at least up to their chin. Geez, she barely reached this guys shoulder.

"My-my name is Ka-ka...." She took a deep breath, forcing herself not to stutter like an idiot and embarrass herself further "My name is Kagome" Mentally patting herself on the back she smiled warmly at the man which he returned and at that moment she melted into a pile of womanly goo. If she thought he was beautiful then, then he was even more painfully beautiful now when he smiled.

"May I ask for yours also" She asked politely, extending her hand.

 His face remained impassive though his eyes held amusement in them.

"Sesshoumaru" He gently grabbed her extended arm and placed a light kiss on her hand “Lord Sesshoumaru Taishou here to meet your acquaintances" He said charmingly.

She remembered waking up feeling shy, nervous and lust. She didn't know how and somehow she wished that she didn't care but the vividness of that dream made her wonder of it was a dream or maybe perhaps a memory... but that was impossible. She could never have memories of something that wasn't real, something that didn't happen. Right?

Though a nagging feeling at the back of her mind told her differently.

She sat on a cliff multitudes of trees surrounded her below. She lifted her cerulean gaze to the sky and watched as the stars twinkled brightly as if smiling down at them in happiness. A soft sigh of contentment escaped her lips as she snuggled deeply into the embrace of Sesshoumaru who was holding her firmly. Nuzzling her face into his chest, he tightened his hold around her.

What they were doing was wrong and totally against the wills of the gods but being here, being in his arms like this made everything worthwhile if only for a moment. They could never be together forever, humans and demons alike would look down upon it and would hurt them for the rest of their days 'While mine considering I'm human'  While she knew that Sesshoumaru was capable of protecting them both. She also knew that he was a lord and didn't need this.

He needed a demoness by his side not some weak human whose life would fade in the blink of an eye compared to his. Her heart clenched painfully at that thought. Sesshoumaru spending his life with someone else. Deciding that she didn't like were her line of thoughts were heading. She quickly asked him a question in hopes of distracting her straying thoughts.

"It's beautiful isn't it" Her dream self asked turning her head to look at his face.

His sun-kissed orbs looked down at her lovingly "Beautiful" His melodious voice whispered before capturing her lips in a soft yet passionate kiss. Seeming to secretly put all her unease at bay.

Some of them she just couldn't believe. She remembered waking up from this particular dream feeling hot and bothered. She then cried silently as emptiness suddenly overcame her.

'What was better?' She questioned herself 'longing for someone that could never want you or longing for someone that didn't exist. She wish that she were lucky enough for the first one and be like any other normal girl but alas the kamis were against her, making her yearn for the latter and tease her with dreams by making her want something that she could never have.

Rain pattered heavily on the roof as lightening lit up the room causing shadows to dance on the walls in random patterns. Two lovers both laid naked in a massive bed. Oblivious of the howling wind outside. Sesshoumaru hovered above her naked body as he gently licked and nuzzled her neck, sending shivers of anticipation down her spine.

There were moments of gold and there were flashes of light. There were things I'll never do again but then they'd always seemed right.

He moaned at her words wondering if she knew the effect he had on his person.

 She wrapped her legs around his thin waist pulling him closer to her, her arms wrapping around his neck. Sesshoumaru stood in front of her a vicious snarl leaving his lips. He took a threatening step towards her.

There were those empty threats and hallow lies...

Kagome though stood her ground easily and glared at him. If he were any other he would have ran away tail between his legs but he wasn't he was a powerful taiyoukai and he never ran away from anything.

"Wom-"

"Kagome" She said sternly.

"You are not to see that filthy scum again. Do I make myself clear?"

She threw her hands up in frustration. "Why...give me one good reason why I can't see Yukemi again" She whined softly, barely restraining her anger.

He replied in a bored tone "My reasons are my own" As if trying to ignore his own little outburst. He didn't want to admit it and he wouldn't anyway to save his pride but he was hopelessly jealous of the amount of time Kagome spent with Yukemi. They were becoming too comfortable with each other in his opinion and though he knew he could trust Kagome it was him that he didn't.

Kagome suddenly seethed in anger, pointing a finger at him accursedly she yelled "YOUR REASONS ARE YOUR OWN" she said.

"Well Sesshoumaru I don't know what your problem is with him but my reasons are my own also" She finished stubbornly, folding her arms with a 'Humph' and turning her head away, nose pointing in the air.

Sesshoumaru growled loudly the noise vibrating through the room sending an unpleasant shiver through her spine, her every instinct screaming at her to submit to her alpha. Though being Kagome she still didn't back down and instead let her aura free her miko powers protecting herself against the angry aura of her mate.

"What's your problem anyway" She asked "It's not like I'm sleeping with the man err youkai" she corrected herself.

"That is not the point" Sesshoumaru said casually as he pinned her with a cold stare. Willing her mentally to submit.

Kagome just ignored it and lifted an eyebrow in question "Oh really, it isn't? So if I were to sleep with him you'd have no problem is that what you’re saying because I'm having a hard time believing that. Though if you’re saying it's alright then who am I to judge" She shrugged her shoulders "I just thought inu-youkai were protective by nature is all especially of mates"

She knew she was rubbing him the wrong way but right now she just didn't care. Yukemi was really nice to her and the only demon in the palace other than Sesshoumaru who wasn't scared of her, he was a friend to her and she just couldn't see him more than that. She would never cheat on Sesshoumaru she loved him. She thought he knew that considering she told him that every night and he said it back to her and when you loved someone didn't that mean that you trusted them also but obviously he didn't. It hurt more deeply than she would care to admit that he didn't trust her.

Sesshoumaru snarled his eyes flashing red, suddenly he grabbed her. Roughly taking her lips in a bruising kiss. Trying to show her who her alpha was and whom she belonged to. He held her tightly in his arms trying to wrap his scent around her so that other youkai knew whom she was the mate of.

Let’s just say that she didn't leave the room for Two days.

There were hours that just went on for days and when alone at last we'd climb all

the chances that would last to us forever.

Sesshoumaru stood in front of the bone eaters well, blocking her path. Her companions stood a bit behind her having no desire to be involved in the argument over her rights to let her go home for the day especially now that she was the mate of Sesshoumaru a feared demon lord.

She sighed in frustration "You’re just as bad as Inuyasha, you know that"

Sesshoumaru growled angrily while a faint 'Feh' could be heared in the background.

"Women, you are not to be going anywhere this Sessho-"

"Yea well this Kagome don't give a shit and that Sesshoumaru" She pointed a finger at him accusingly. "Can kiss my arse" She yelled.

There were sounds of muffled giggles; obviously the others thought that she was funny. Though now was not the time.

Sesshoumaru smirked mockingly "I believe this Sesshoumaru has done just that" He gave her a heated gaze which made her blush in embarrassment "And more" he added.

A mortified gasp left her lips as everyone was stunned into silence. Kagomes eyebrow twitched in irritation.

"Why Lady Kagome I never knew you to be so" He eyed her up and down, a perverted smirk plastered on his face "Adventurist, perhaps you would be so kind as to teach San-"

"BAM"

"Hentai" Screeched Sango, she laughed nervously when she realised that she had everyone’s attention. A smug looking youkai lord, an embarrassed yet angry miko and a Hanyou whose ears just twitched in annoyance, though his face held a small smirk; obviously he was trying to hide his amusement.

"Hehe...just ignore us" Grumbled Sango, dragging an unconscious monk behind her. "I'll go and check on Shippo" She yelled, heading towards the village.

They all watched Sango as she gradually faded away having reached the hut.

Kagome turned and noticed that they were still looking at the direction of the village. She smirked to herself as a plan formulated in her head. As quietly and unnoticeably as possible she sneaked past Sesshoumaru. Watching him like a hawk for any signs of acknowledgement towards her person. She took a few more steps, still watching him.

'Just one more step’ She thought silently 'Just one more and I'll be close to freedom' She thought, now looking at the bone eaters well.

Her fingers gently brushed against the cool wood of the old well. Still trying to be silent, she lifted her leg, preparing herself to jump. When suddenly a strong arm wrapped firmly around her petite form.

She sighed in frustration as she was pulled away from the well. Her arms reaching towards it longingly.

'No' she whimpered in her mind 'So close yet so far' she thought dramatically. Sighing under her breathe as she pouted she looked up into the eyes of her captor.

Sesshoumaru looked down at her in amusement. She huffed in anger then looked towards Inuyasha. Give him the puppy eyes which she knew that he wouldn't be able to resist she asked him in her sweetest voice as she stepped out of the warmth of Sesshoumaru arms.

"Inuyasha" She called.

He looked towards her and once he saw that look he knew she was up to something.

"Yea" He asked hesitant. Giving her a sideways glance.

"Can you please give me and Sesshoumaru some time alone" She asked sweetly...too sweetly.

He knew she was up to something he just didn't know what. Well as long as he wasn't on the receiving end he didn't care one bit. Anyway his jackass of a brother deserved it.

He nodded his head and left without a word.

Kagome turned her attention back to Sesshoumaru and walked to him with a gentle sway in her hips. He watched her every move as she looked at him seductively, eyeing him up and down while licking her lips. Blood rushed to his nether region making a tent in his Hakamas.

She stopped in front of him and looked into his eyes. Her fingers reached out caressing his clothed shoulder while her lips found his neck and bit lightly with her dull human teeth.

Her hands ventured down south feeling the huge bulge in his pants. Slipping her fingers in his pants she held him firmly, squeezing gently. He moaned deeply.

"Sesshoumaru" Kagome whispered huskily. His whispered name on her lips sending shivers up his spine as she moved her hand up and down her other hand playing with his balls.

Kagome smirked, hiding her smile she whispered "If you don't let me go and see my family for the day I swear I'll cut of your balls" Giving him a hard squeeze, she quickly let go and stepped towards the well ready to leap.

Yet again Sesshoumaru stopped her. He held her firmly against his chest as he leaned down to nuzzle and lick her mating mark. He smelt her arousal and couldn't help the satisfied smirk that crossed his features. He would be the only one to smell his mate’s delicious scent of arousal he told himself.

"I believe mate that you should finish what you started before this Sesshoumaru lets you go" He whispered to her huskily as he rubbed his erect manhood into her lower back.

Hours later she left finally. After some convincing that she promised to return tomorrow and Sesshoumaru confession of not wanting to be without his mate for the day her finally left. Though a bit hesitant after he admitted the true reason of not letting her go but she dared not let that change her mind about leaving.

Besides she knew if she stayed longer than necessary that she would have stayed and that’s not what she wanted though she loved him dearly she still had her family in the future who she missed also and she'd be damned if she didn't get to see them. No one was going to stop her not Inuyasha, not Naraku and certainly not her gorgeous, sexy, handso- okay that was enough she definately had to leave and fast before she changed her mind.

Waving a goodbye and promising that she would return tomorrow in the morning. She leapt down the well and let the familiar warmth of the blue light surround her.

She got to the other side and looked up from the bottom of the well. Only to see her mother smiling at her happily which she gladly returned.

She kept dreaming of something that wasn't real, that wasn't there and that's what made things harder. She felt like something was missing but she didn't know what to do. She had a feeling that it was him but he wasn't real he can't if been. She hated feeling like this, it was like a deep longing that was becoming too painful to ignore.

She sighed sadly as tears once again began to fall. She angrily wiped them away then lazily walked back inside to the warmth of her bed. Intent on ignoring the ache in her heart and neck.

A lone figure hid in the protection of the tress. His prey unaware of his Amber eyes watching her longingly as he too tried to ignore the ache in his own heart.

How he so badly wanted to jump down there and kiss away her tears, to embrace her and hide her away from the world to shield her from the pain...but he couldn't, he knew that but the time was near where he would make himself known. He couldn't wait.

Jumping down from his perch. He sauntered with measured steps to the bench were Kagome was recently sitting. He breathed in deeply, the familiar scent of wild roses and rain washing over him in a soothing manner.

'It is nearly time' His beast stated.

'Hai she is starting to recall most of her memories' Sesshoumaru said 'she remembers us she just believes that we do not exist though that will change tomorrow. Her family are going away for the day, that will be enough to give her the reassurance that we do exist'

'Hmm, hai tomorrow we will finally have our mate back' His bestial side purred.

'Hai, tomorrow' Sesshoumaru agreed, turning away to leave.

Kagome awoke to the faint voice of her mother calling her from down stairs. With a yawn she got out of bed and proceeded down the stairs coming to a stop at the kitchen door.

"Kagome" Her mother said as she busily hurried around the kitchen packing food items into a basket.

"Hai" Kagome answered feeling dizzy from watching her mother quickly dart from one end of the room to the other. Rubbing her eyes to get the sleep out of them she stretched her arms above her head before looking at her mother.

"Me, your Grandfather and Souta are going to met some relatives for a picnic" She said suddenly stopping in front of her Daughter "Now I know how you have been a bit sick lately and are just recovering so I won't pressure you into coming but if you decide to come we will be at the local park just a few blocks from here. You know the one I'm talking about right" At her Daughters nod she continued" Yes that one now afterwards we're gonna also stay at their house for the day to help your Aunt and Uncle prepare for the wedding okay sweetheart and also Souta can finally met his cousins so don't wait up. I trust you will be fine without us....look at the time well darling I better be going I’ve already got your Grandfather and Souta waiting in the car"

She packed Kagome on the cheek then quickly grabbed the basket full of food and the keys. Yelling a goodbye and that there some food in the oven. She opened the door and left without another word.

Kagome sighed and looked around. She noticed it would have been a beautiful day if it weren't for the dark ominous clouds that peaked over the mountains that surrounded Tokyo. She decided to have a quick shower, have some breakfast then just be lazy that sounded good to her. With that in mind she quickly ran up the stairs...

Turning on the shower she quickly went into her room and gathered her clothing. Stepping back into the bathroom her body was instantly enveloped in a light mist from the warmth of the shower.

Testing the temperature with her hand, she nodded her approval and undressed herself before proceeding to step into the shower. The warmth of the water instantly calming her and relaxing her tense shoulders.

Leaning her head against the wall, she watched as small water droplets slowly slid down her arm almost seductively leaving behind an unseen trail.

She quickly washed her hair then grabbed the soap and started to scrub her body until her skin became red.

Stepping out of the shower she hurriedly dried herself then changed into her track pants and white t-shirt she bound her hair tightly in a towel as she made her way down stairs for breakfast. She sauntered into the kitchen then stopped suddenly. She reached to touch her neck. It pulsed she thought in alarm it had never done that before. That feeling was back again it was like a constant nagging in her mind.

It's all coming back; it's all coming back to me now

'He's here' A soft voice whispered in her head.

She touched her neck where the cresant moon lay. Puzzled by her stray thoughts she ignored them and proceeded to make her breakfast.

'He's hear, he's finally here. He has come for us.' The voice whispered again.

Before Kagome could comprehend that little voice in her mind a loud booming noise resounded throughout the room causing her to flinch as her heated dream came to mind.

There were moments of gold and there were flashes of light.

Looking out the window, she quietly cursed under her breathe 'Shit the washing' She muttered. Dashing out the door with her towel falling to the ground from her quick movement. She grabbed the basket and hurried to the line before the clothes quickly became soaked from the rain.

"BOOM" Another sound of thunder rumbled through the sky as lightning shortly followed illuminating the area.

Hurriedly grabbing the clothes, she dumped them into the basket. Coming to the last piece of clothing she grabbed the first peg, then the second. Grabbing it from the line she brought it down towards her and carelessly chucked it into the basket.

Picking up the basket she looked around to see if she had forgotten any.

Shock and panic suddenly coursed through her at an unbelievable rate. Her eyes widen as her breathe suddenly stilled. Hands quivered and shaked in nervousness and fear as the laundry basket lay in a forgotten heap on the ground. Quickly becoming soaked by the rain and mud.

She didn't know what to do, what to believe. She just stood there unmoving scared that she was hallucinating and the kamis were playing some kind of sick joke on her. Her neck suddenly pulsed again, this time it wasn't painful it felt calming. Her heart started pounding louder and louder as she heared the sound echo throughout her body seeming to awaken her every senses.

She did one thing that any normal teenager girl would do it seeing something they always dreamed of standing in front of them, especially of it was a youkai. She fainted.

Faster than lightening Sesshoumaru rushed to her side and caught her before she fell. He shivered when he held her in his arms bringing back memories.

There were things we'll never do again but then they'd always seemed right.

He looked down at her. His eyes softening as he took in her fragile and vulnerable form. She had never looked as beautiful as she did now. Her dark eyelashes rested against her high cheekbones. The harsh rain made her hair cling to her pale face. Her nipples erect from the cold weather. The way her clothing clung to her body showing him, her every curve and womanly features that she had to offer. Her pants clung tightly to her legs showing him the lean muscle that he knew was there. He inwardly groaned remembering how those legs wrapped around him, forcing him tighter into her heat.

He lifted her carefully into his arms and walked inside following her scent to where it was the strongest. Opening the door to her room he layed her down and proceeded to find a dry towel. Guessing where the bathroom was he grabbed the towel that hung loosely on the rack and went back to Kagome.

He smiled down at her sleeping form. She looked like an angel. Pushing his straying thoughts away he quickly dried her before she caught the flu he was thinking about changing her clothes but decided against it considering how she would react. He lifted the blankets paying careful attention to her breathing so if she were to wake, he would know. Tucking her in the warmth of her bed he walked towards the wall and leaned against it, arms folded and watched as she slept.

She truly did look peaceful lying there. How he wished he could join her but knew that she wouldn't like that well not right now that is. He thought back to how he saw her react to seeing him. He knew that he should not have gone to her then, he should have waited abit longer, but with his beast nagging him on, he just could not resist. Seeing her standing in the rain as it slid down her skin seductively, her lips red from the cold, the way her clothes and hair clung to her body. It was temptation and he could not resist.

There were nights of endless pleasure it was more than all your laws allow.

He stopped his line of thoughts when he heared her breathing quicken meaning that she was awakening. He softened his gaze and tried to relax his posture. He did not want to frighten her considering he just got her back.

Azure eyes opened up slowly. She shivered in her bed as she remembered her dream. She was grabbing the washing when she actually saw him in her time wearing modern day clothing. Whenever she dreamed of him, it was always in the Sengoku era not hers.

She looked around her room and saw a figure looking at her with a soft expression. 'Oh no' She thought 'It was a dream...it had to be one' She rubbed her eyes and blinked a few times telling herself that she was only hallucinating.

Though a small voice whispered mockingly in her mind, ‘I told you' it said smugly 'I told you so, mate come for us'

'Ma-wah' Kagome thought confused.

She looked at him and her breathe caught in her throat. He looked exactly how he did in her dreams. He had the jagged markings on his face a crescent moon on his forehead with beautiful amber eyes and long silver hair wet from the rain. The only difference being was that he was wearing a dark Armani suit and polished black shoes, though abit muddy from the rain.  'It wasn't a dream. It...It was real'.

She slowly stepped out of her bed and took short hesitant steps forward. Scared that the image would fade and that she was just dreaming again, which is what she believed considering the youkai she dreamed of stood not even Two metres away from her. Becoming more confident, she walked slowly until she stood right in front of the figure.

Her breathe caught in her throat ''No'' She whispered under her breathe, shaking her head. "You’re not real, you can't be. It was only a dream" She said as if trying to convince herself even though he stood right in front of her.

 She was waiting for him to magically disappear or either for her brother to jump out of a closet and say ‘Haha, you’ve just been punked’ but for the more she stood in front of him the more she knew that neither of that was going to be happening.

Baby, baby, baby when you touch me like this...

She reached out a hand towards him hesitantly. He looked like a statue standing there so still. Was he even breathing she questioned herself. She gently reached a hand out and paused before slowly tracing his features. She ran her fingers across his purple stripes then traced his crescent moon. It felt smooth beneath her fingertips something she did not expect. She then as gently as possible touched his lips as she felt the warmth seep under her fingers.

She quickly withdrew her hand and blushed in embarrassment. Sesshoumaru inwardly sighed in disappointment already missing the warmth of her fingers touching him so tenderly.

She looked deep into his eyes and saw something flicker in them. He slowly lifted a hand the only sign of life. He as non threatening as possible moved his hand to her forehead. His hand felt warm and soft as she felt a familiar feeling ease into her body. His arm glowed a dark purple colour before he pulled back suddenly.

She felt her neck pulse again as she felt something soothing coursing throughout her body. After a moment of nothing more happening, she just looked at him confused and then suddenly as fast as lightening she remembered everything as it flashed across her mind like a movie.

NOTE: Flashbacks happening fast kay so just remember it is only like a quick

Glimpse of them...

She saw them in a clearing arguing about her state of dress. She then saw them lying under the stars making love to each other as they caressed each other’s bodies. The scene changed again as she woke up in his arms he was holding her tenderly and looked at her with pure love before nuzzling her mating mark.

 Her breathe hitched as her body hunched over her hand clutching her heart. 'The mark on her neck'  She thought 'It wasn't a scar it was a mating mark, that intimate dream she had of him when he bit her, he was marking her as his mate. That is why it was painful' she thought in realization it was because she was away from him and then it felt calming because he was near. That voice in her head was her subconscious telling her and she ignored it foolishly.

She looked up at his concerned eyes. Unshed tears blurring her vision. She whispered two words that changed their life. Two words that made everything better and worth the wait.

"I remember" She whispered quietly.

...and you hold me like that

Not being able to take it anymore Sesshoumaru grabbed her and pulled her roughly towards him in a bruising kiss. Putting all his passion and lust into it. The love that he had for her, the lonely centuries spent without her. He made up for it in that kiss. She returned it just is equally.

It was gone with the wind but it's all coming back to me

In her mind, she saw more flashbacks. Him hunting for food for them, walking around the castles gardens together talking about nothing and everything. She then saw him fighting to protect her how he shielded her from the attack with his body then asking of she was fine when he was the one hurt. It changed again suddenly they were outside the well fighting this being with tentacles. 'Naraku' Her mind whispered.

 She saw them coming towards her though Sesshoumaru quickly cut them off then grabbed her before jumping on the lip of the well. He kissed her tenderly and whispered that he loved her and that he would find her one day. He whispered to her goodbye and asked for her forgiveness before he dropped her down the well. Her hands reached towards him as the blue magic of the well enveloped her, taking her to her time.

She remembered when she returned to the other side she quickly climbed out then jumped back in only to hit the bottom, no blue light surrounded her body only the cold realization of what he had done. 'He sealed the well permanently' She thought in anger 'How could he'. She sat there and cried for hours clutching her bruised leg, whispering that she would wait for him. Before she fell unconscious.

That is when her mind went blank, she remembered waking up to the concerned faces of her family, and not being able to recall what happened before the accident. She asked but she only got a sympathetic gaze and sad smiles instead, she decided not to think too much on it but now realised that that had been a mistake.  Her family had kept the most important thing from her; they had hid from her the truth. They watched as she spent countless nights crying and they never told her.

She pulled back suddenly and pushed him away from her. His eyes betrayed the hurt he felt before it was schooled back into his impassive stare.

Her body hunched over again as she clutched her bleeding heart. She looked at him with a hurtful expression.

When you see me like this and when I see you like that

"You left me" She heaved as unshed tears blurred her vision.

Her breathing picked up and she thought that she was going to faint again. She looked at him before running outside for fresh air, Sesshoumaru hot on her trail. She opened the back door and let the rain soak her burning body.

She turned around when she heared his footsteps. She pointed a finger at him accusingly

"You left me" She yelled "How could you I loved you" Tears falling silently down her face proving that this moment was becoming too hard for her as they fell down her cheeks mixing with the rain.

She walked up to him and started hitting him on the chest "How could you" She whispered, hitting him harder "I loved you. Do you know how I felt? I thought you didn't love me and then I go and forget everything and thought that I was going crazy then you show up and just stand there" She yelled.

He grabbed her hands and pulled her towards his body. Instantly enveloping her in his warmth. He bent down and nuzzled his mark.

"I'm sorry" He murmured in her ear, Kagome shivered at the sound of his voice.

She pulled back and looked into his eyes "You're sorry....that's all you've got to say is that you're sorry how about you explain to me why you done it" She whispered back harshly.

Then we see what we want to see. All coming back to me.

"I was protecting you I didn't want you to get hurt. The battle was proving to be quite difficult and I did not know if we were going to make it out alive in the end. I apologize for making you go through all that, that wasn't my intention in the first place. I was only doing what I thought was right but obviously it wasn't" He finished.

Kagome looked at him with sad eyes "You should've let me stay with you all of yours. If you would have died I would have gladly died with you" She finished. Wrapping her arms around him.

"Tell me" She said "Tell me why I forgot everything please" She whispered against his chest.

He looked thoughtful for a moment before answering "When the memories are too painful and your heart or soul cannot take that kind of emotional pain your subconscious hides it away from you, making you forget, though the memories are still there"

"Then why did it make me forget" Kagome asked nuzzling her face into his chest inhaling his masculine scent.

The flesh in the fantasies all coming back to me

"Your body couldn't handle that kind of emotional pain. The mating mark" He motioned towards her neck "It binds us together body, mind, heart and soul when the link was broken off by the well being cut of errantly. Your body couldn't handle the idea of being without its significant other therefore it sealed your memories so that you couldn't remember for the time being. They would resurface when it thought that it was appropriate" He paused as if deep in thought "I suppose it was your body’s way of protecting you".

"Then why didn't you forget" She asked slightly hurt that he wasn't as effected as her as she was he.

He looked down at her with a playful expression "I am youkai remember that little miko" He whispered.

'Little Miko' she smiled in remembrance at the nickname.

"Okay fluffy Sama" She whispered back. Sesshoumaru only growled in mock annoyance. She shivered as she felt the growl vibrate throughout her whole body.

"Why did you come now and not sooner" She asked curiously.

Sesshoumaru looked down at her thoughtfully before answering "I needed to wait for the right timing, though my beast was persistent in coming to see you. I however knew to wait."

"And the dreams" She asked.

"They were your sub-conscious showing you what you had long forgotten" He answered simply.

I can barely recall but it's all coming back to me now

Kagome yawned then shivered as the wind blew by. She snuggled closer to Sesshoumaru as if trying to steal all of his warmth.

"Come" Sesshoumaru said "You are wet it wouldn't do well for you to get sick when I just got you back". He whispered against her neck as he reluctantly pulled back and led her inside.

After a warm shower and dressed into comfortable clothing, Kagome made her way to her room where her mate was waiting for her.

She laughed quietly at that thought 'Mate, who would have thought that those dreams were actually memories though I should have known by the vividness of them' She mused. Coming to a stop in front of her door she opened it slowly and peered her head inside before going in and closing the door softly behind her.

"Sesshoumaru" She questioned. Kagome moved towards him as he was sitting on her bed. Sesshoumaru looked up at her before grabbing her arm and pulling her down to rest in his lap.

He gently kissed her on the forehead "Hn" He answered.

"Where do we go from here" She asked "What happens now"

"What do you want to happen" He asked instead, his golden eyes looking intently at her.

She smiled at him "Your still the same" When he gave her a confused look she continued "Asking a question when you, your self is asked one" She giggled quietly that didn't even make sense to herself.

He chuckled quietly as he wrapped his arms tighter around her, pulling her head to rest on his chest. She sighed contently as she listened to the rhythmic beat of his heart. She closed her eyes and inhaled his scent in deeply as another contented sigh escaped her dark ruby lips 'Yes' she thought 'This is where I belong, here with him. My Mate'. Opening azure eyes and looking at her beloved, her breathe hitched suddenly. He was looking at her with such intensity that she felt familiar warmth spread throughout her body and into her neither region.

"Sesshoumaru"

"Sssh, my mate" Sesshoumaru whispered huskily into her ear and smirked when he heared Kagomes sharp intake of breathe.

"What do you want to happen" He asked again, his deep, masculine voice sending shivers down her spine.

If you forgive me all this

"I want' She paused suddenly, thinking deeply about his question. What did she want to happen? Well the obvious answered was that she wanted him but she also wanted a change of things, she wanted to be set free to live how she wanted to and that was with him. They had many centuries that they had to make up for and she wasn't wasting any more time. Her family were alright besides she'd come to see them again and she knew her mother would understand. Mind made up she mentally nodded her head before answering.

"I want you to take me away, to hide me away from the rest of the world, I want to be in a place where it is only you and I" She finished looking at him to see his reaction.

And I forgive you all that

He only smiled at her which made her heart melt "Anything else Milady requires" He asked his smile fading into a small smirk which she returned.

"No Milord, your lady only requires you" She said as she done a mock bow.

"What of your family" He questioned seriously.

She sighed tiredly, she seemed to be doing allot of that she mused "I'm not ready to face them yet it's just hard for me to come to terms with what they done" She paused and looked at Sesshoumaru his questioning gaze making her smile 'He's more open with his emotions' She noted and she wouldn't have it any other way.

"They knew Sesshoumaru, they knew and they didn't tell me they listened to me cry nearly every night for months yet they still kept the truth from me" She paused as she tried to calm her breathing "I forgive them for that but I just need a rest from them, a day isn't enough for me Sesshoumaru I can't just forget something like this that easily, especially since it had a major effect on my life and besides" She paused to shrug her shoulders "It's not like I’ll never see them again I’ll just ring them up from your house" She said then threw him a small smirk which her returned.

"I understand" He whispered sincerely.

We forgive and forget and it's all coming back to me

She smiled warmly at him but that suddenly changed to confusion as he abruptly got of her bed and stood his hand extended towards her.

"Wha-"

"Milady wishes to leave, her lord only wishes to please his lady" He said as he answered her unspoken question.

She smiled at him as she placed her hand in his own and stood in front of him. He slowly led her downstairs then out the front door where he held her tightly in his embrace. Then ever so slowly they descended from the ground the only thing holding them up was his youki cloud.

"Sesshoumaru wha-"

He interrupted her "I am only doing what you suggested".

She smacked him playfully on the chest "Stop interrupting me" She scolded. Sesshoumaru smirked down at her. She turned to look up at him, her body in a trance from the majestic beauty in front of her. She heared him laugh then flushed in embarrassment at having be caught staring.

Shaking her head to rid herself of all her straying thoughts she asked him her question.

Now. It's all coming back to me now

"Why are we flying on your cloud wont we get caught from everyone" She asked curiously as she clutched on to him tighter remembering that they were 100s of feet above the ground. 'Hmm' She mused 'I guess I forgot seeing as I was distracted by Sesshoumaru...and what a wonderful distraction' She added as an afterthought.

"No we won’t be seen by the humans" He answered bringing her out of her wandering musings. "This Sesshoumaru has erected a barrier around us so that we will be hidden from view"

When I touch you like that

"Yeah that isn’t the only thing that you've erected" Kagome mumbled. Realizing what she just said and knowing that with his youkai hearing he would have heared her, She flushed a deep scarlet colour. 'Okay' Kagome thought silently 'Now would be a good time for the world to come and swallow me up'.

Kagome felt his body vibrating and realized that he was laughing at her. Her heart instantly melted, his laugh was beautiful though that did not mean that he had to laugh at her. Not that she could really blame him, though he didn't have to laugh that much' She mused, a small frown on her forehead. Finding her courage she said.

"Okay that enough you can stop laughing now" She watched in silence as his laughter slowly died down to a small chuckle. Sesshoumaru looked at her with mirth dancing in his eyes as he shaked his head in amusement.

It's all coming back to me now if you do it like this

"I have a silly mate" He said "A silly, sexy mate who couldn't have been more right" He whispered huskily as he bent down to nuzzle her neck, his breathe fanning across her ear causing shivers to dance down her spine.

Kagome blushed again in embarrassment as she tried to ignore the way her lower belly heated up in that familiar warmth and knowing that with his keen sense of smell that he'd be able to detect her faint scent of arousal and she didn't want that well not now at least seeing as they just became acquainted with one another again "Yeah, yeah shush you" She said refusing to look at him.

"We are nearly there" He said suddenly, all traces of playfulness gone from his voice.

She looked up at him curiously "Where" She asked.

He looked down at her before giving her a slow, soft, sensual kiss. Pulling back he held her close to him. "Home" He whispered...

It's all coming back to me now and if we....

 Now please tell me if you liked it or not, I’m open to hear others opinions. I know that the ending was abit rushed and some of it might seem abit confusing but I’ll try to explain things as simple as I can.

 Oookayy now let’s see...

 1) As you should know Kagome had visions of the past, her past to be exact.

2) Okay now let’s just pretend that Sesshoumaru never wanted the Tetsusaiga and that, That was the first time him and Kagome had met oh and he didn't hate humans...Yes I know strange and stupid but PLEASE keep and open mind people besides that was the only way my story would work.                                     

3) Still the same story line you know like the gang still chasing down Naraku just minus Sesshoumaru.

 annnd one last thing please be easy on me this is my first fanfic. So it's nothing amazing but thank you still for reading it =)
