cakeiton (Chapter 19) - Mon 18 Aug 2014

Yay! Very excited to see more of this story. Thanks for writing. :]

WiccanMethuselah (Chapter 19) - Mon 18 Aug 2014

Thank you for such a delicious update!  No matter how long it takes, I find myself falling immediately back into the story with the opening words of each new chapter.  Thank you, also, for continuing to update on this site - I know we have many people who read your stories here and love them every bit as much as I do!  This chapter was excellent - more depth about Adele and the beginnings of a relationship between her and Kagome, much to love about it, definitely!

Along with your other readers, I will be patiently awaiting the next exciting installment, regardless of how much time passes.  After all, perfection DOES take time, yes?

;)

KEdakumi (Chapter 19) - Mon 18 Aug 2014

I love the thought and details that you have put into this story. I can't wait to see where you take them next.

Paperwing (Chapter 18) - Mon 02 Jun 2014

I can only pray you will update this again, since you've done before! This story is SO amazing. Your intuitive love for History so far exceeds what I've read this story just COMES TO LIFE! I was mostly familiar with most of the events taking place, although some, like Belgium and the Congo were not something ever discussed in any of my history classes.

I doubt you will, but I'm hoping there's some event that comes to pass that allows Kagome to have children- but probably not. I just hope yuo update again though! I really do!

lotophagi (Chapter 7) - Tue 03 Dec 2013

Poor Kagome Sesshomaru turns down the gate keeper and is going to the feast with another lady.. I hope Kagome hits him. Excellent so far!

lotophagi (Chapter 4) - Tue 03 Dec 2013

Excellent chapter.

KyonKyon01 (Chapter 18) - Mon 25 Nov 2013

It's so good to have you back again!  When I saw the story alert pop up in my email I did one of these :o  and nearly dropped my coffee mug out of sheer joy, hehe.  It's amazing that even after taking a long hiatus, you still came back strong.  You didn't lose any of the momentum or rhythm of the story.  It was like you never left :)  This story is so original and well written, I am so glad you're not giving up on it.  I don't care if it takes 10 years to finish, my enthusiasm and loyalty to it will never die.  Thank you for coming back to us and keep up the good work!

Voracious (Chapter 1) - Sat 23 Nov 2013

PSS: Forgot to mention (as I quite cant seem to help myself) that this update is easily one of the highlights of 2013 for me. ^_^ Yeah, you're that freakin' good.

Voracious (Chapter 1) - Sat 23 Nov 2013

Let me give you a relative idea of how good it feels to see this update after so long. 'Beside You in Time' is one of THE gods of fanfiction for me. Yup, right there with the others 'Tales from the House of the Moon', 'Shadows behind a Shoji Screen' and 'Laying in Dokkatsou'. So yeah, its chapter update is like a unexpected christmas present and of course, as usual, theres no need of mentioning how gifted, or natural, or impressive your writing is (plus that wonderful background of real history). You should seriously consider a carreer in writing. :)

Quiet Whisper (Chapter 18) - Sat 23 Nov 2013

EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! I was so excited when I saw that you updated!!!Then I started reading x_x Rosie!!! *cries* You're killing me here!!! I really hope Sesshomaru and Kagome can figure things out without going another couple decades or centuries apart from one another, and I know this isn't really going to be a happy story (it hasn't really been so far and I know the song lol) but some happy would be nice lol. Either way I'm so glad you came back and I can't wait to see what happens next, even if it does make me sadface lol

cakeiton (Chapter 18) - Sat 23 Nov 2013

So happy to see this story back again! This is well worth the wait and a story that stuck with me for a while.

Lady Kirara (Chapter 18) - Fri 22 Nov 2013

Ermahgah! The legend lives! *ahem* That was my little squee of fangirlness at seeing an update to one of my all time favorite stories. I'm so glad you haven't abandoned this story! It's refreshing to see another update. I hope things are going well, and now if you'll excuse me I need to do some rereading to get the full effect of this newest chapter. ^_^

Stardust (Chapter 18) - Fri 22 Nov 2013

Oh thank you thank you thank you – you made my day by continuing this story. It is really one of my most favorite one as it is so historical correct and I do appreciate every new turn. So I keep guessing for the next location and see World War I or the Spanish flu in one of the next chapters.

And if it will helpful I will join the big group of people who try to keep you on writing. Maybe in exchange for some cookies?

Time on my hands (Chapter 18) - Thu 21 Nov 2013

So glad you are back! This chapter was incredible for a number of reasons. You brought Shippo back. Yay! You explored more of the changes that Kagome has undergone in the centuries since Edo. You explored more of Sesshoumaru's growing realization of his feelings for Kagome. You combined the story with a history lesson on a much neglected topic. I loved history in school. This period of history in Africa was never covered in any of my classes even in college. You always get the slave trade in the 1700's and the blood diamond conflicts, but not much else. You do such a great job of weaving the story with actual history. I always learn something from one of your chapters as well as being entertained by a great Sess/Kag story. Bravo!

KEdakumi (Chapter 18) - Thu 21 Nov 2013

It never ceases to amaze me how much more horrific reality is then fiction.

Love this story. Can't wait for more!

TruGemini (Chapter 18) - Thu 21 Nov 2013

Hey Rosie!!!! Glad to see you back and posting a new chapter. The chapter was great! I'm loving that you are showing more of the darker side to Kagome as she struggles with everything that has gone on in her life. I also love how Sess is responding to it all. Eventually he's going to have to accept that she is not his weakness, but his strength. I'll have to look up the book you referenced as I do so enjoy history. Good Luck on future chapters!!

Ankita (Chapter 18) - Thu 21 Nov 2013

OMG OMG finally an update ... I thought I was halllusinating ... Anyways thanks for the update and thank you for the quick recap I really helped connecting which story I was reading really thoughtfull of you ....

kalaadaephon (Chapter 18) - Thu 21 Nov 2013

Dear RosieB,

The theme of your latest chapter is my favourite so far... Leeopold's atrocities are usually rough shodded over in most classes on colonialism and nationalism, with primary focus on Great Britaiin and the like, NAM, Greats Wars etc etc... But I will differ with you on one point and only one point, I could be wrong of course. Leopold's savagery is very well known, (at least in the academic circles). I wonder about differences though??? My school curricula had an intimate selection of that part of history, which we could choose, if we wanted to... perhaps, different countries have different programmes... I admit, most students don't opt for advanced disciplines either, so... it makes your point much more justifiable, if so.

I eagerly await your next chapter :)

kalaadaephon (Chapter 18) - Thu 21 Nov 2013

Dear RosieB,

You are obviously no stranger to good reviews... so add mine to the trove too ;)

I absolutely love your work...Used to read it as an anonymous reader, and since I became a member just a while back, I have been roaming the halls of this website to put in a good word where I could not before...:D... And this story of yours is one of the few I remember very distinctly due to its original colour... This review is thus long overdue...

Brilliant amalgamation of history, fantasy and litererature!!! You have a specific skill set and you have honed it very well. The best thing about your writing style is in the details, nothing appears random... I like the deliberate style of your narrative for I too favour that kind of writing...

I am very very relieved to hear that this story will not be abandoned... every story should be finished in my opinion, the worthy ones at least.... Your latest chapter is superb and well worth the wait... and I notice once again, your details were very vivid... Loved it....

Big fan,

Kalaadaephon
