I tried to find some information about ink and the application on the skin and whether or not it would stay on for a few days and simply wash away afterwards, or remain forever. Do you know anything more about this since it is in your story and I do not think it is not exactly like tattoos? (Since you use needles and things for that to get it in the skin and so on). ^^ Interesting story and I can´t wait for part 2!
